Thomas More College Rome Campus Honored by Archbishop Burke Visit

(12/15/09) The Rome, Italy, campus of The Thomas More College of Liberal Arts (Merrimack, NH) recently hosted Archbishop Raymond Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican. He celebrated Mass in the College’s Rome campus chapel with students and staff on the Feast of Christ the King. The Archbishop’s homily focused on the importance of letting Christ reign as king in our lives and over society, a College press release reported. After joining the Thomas More College students for a meal, Archbishop Burke fielded a variety of questions from them. According to a sophomore, “The topics ranged from the centrality of the family to the social effects of technology, mediocrity in America, and even the goodness of family farming.”  During his visit to the College, the Archbishop more than once encouraged devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, according to the release. Thomas More College is featured for its strong Catholic identity in The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College, now a free online resource. Source: The Thomas More College of Liberal Arts
