Dear Parents and Prospective Students:
At Benedictine College we’re building one of the great Catholic colleges in America by remaining faithful to our mission, which is to educate men and women within a community of faith and scholarship. This gives us a unique place among contemporary colleges.
Our education is explicitly aimed at finding the truth, our commitment to the Church is unequivocal, and our student life program is focused on forming students in virtue. All of this puts us outside the mainstream of American higher education.
On the other hand, we have kept the best aspects of the college experience. We provide a wide range of academic majors. We have varsity sports, musical ensembles and a campus in Florence, Italy.
And we have tradition. Freshman beanies, homecoming bed races, the fight song—these have been here for many, many years. We have also started some new traditions—a Christmas campus lighting ceremony, the President’s rosary each Wednesday and a May crowning ceremony in our new Marian Grotto. All of these bring our students together and remind them of the special bonds of community that unite Ravens through the years.
I invite you to learn more about our very special community of faith and scholarship.
Yours in Christ,
Dr. Stephen D. Minnis
